Fuengirola

Conveniently located just 25km from Malaga International Airport, Fuengirola is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the coast. Its ease of access via the train and road networks to the airport maintain its popularity with all ages alike.

Once a tiny fishing village Fuengirola has risen in size and popularity over the past 50 years and is now a bustling coastal resort destination for domestic and international tourism.

A popular historic monument is the “Castle El Cstillo Sohail” based on the hilltop at the entrance to the town, some 38 meters above sea level the Castle dates back to the Roman era and has been lovingly maintained and restored by the Fuengirola town hall.

Popular with avid golfers, Fuengirola is set in the heart of the golfing territory of the Costa del Golf, Mijas Golf is just a short drive from the town centre and there are numerous additional courses within close proximity.

The population has grown from 8,500 people in the 1960s to over 63,000 official residents with a large number of expats now residing there on a permanent basis.
