Marbella & the Golden Mile

Translated as Beautiful Sea, Marbella has for many years been the choice of the rich and famous – widely acknowledges as the Saint Tropez of Spain – Marbella is one of the most popular locations for global tourism. This stylish resort offers around 28 km of beaches, and is based within its own micro climate protected by the Sierra Blanca mountain range – the area is renowned for its stunning views of beaches and the dramatic backdrop provided by the "La Concha" mountain.

Marbella is a mixture of the old and the new, with stylish apartments lining the beachfront and traditional white washed Andalusian houses sheltering the cobbled streets of Marbella's Old Town. The bustling Plaza de los Naranjos in the Old Quarter, meaning "Orange Plaza" offers the widest range of restaurants and cuisine in the area combined with boutique shops and popular tapas bars. For the more adventurous the Marbella town also offers a variety of bars and discotheques which open until the early hours and which are frequented by a variety of different cultures.

The Promenade located by the marina is the perfect place to dine or watch the world go by – and during the summer months is one of the busiest areas on the coastline. For those looking for high street shopping Avenida de Ricardo Soriano offers world renowned brands and boutiques, which leads to the famous “Golden Mile” between Puerto Banus and Marbella. Here you will find some of the most prestigious property on the coast and well renowned hotels such as the Marbella Club and Puente Romano.

The region is home to some of the Marbella's most impressive villas and luxury estates including Sierra Blanca, a highly exclusive area located 300m above sea level and overlooking the Mediterranean Sea to Africa, as well as the stunning beaches of the Golden Mile. Elviria & Cabopino

Just East of Marbella in the direction of Malaga, you will find Elviria a popular location with tourists and residents who wish to reside in the suburbs of the greater Marbella area. Elviria is conveniently located; just 6km (4 miles) from the old town of Marbella and 45km (27 miles) from Malaga international airport. The area is well equiped with services, amenities and entertainment facilities and being a coastal resort many properties are within walking distance to the local beaches. Cabopino is most renowned for its small but elegant marina protected by rich woodland and golf courses. The beaches in the area are particularly popular and reputed to be some of the finest on the Costa del Sol.

Resting between Cabopino and El Resario, Elviria is renowned as one of the more upmarket areas on the coast, home to popular destinations such as the five star Don Carlos hotel and world renowned Nikki Beach. The area is also home to a number of famed bars and restaurants which attract cliental from far and wide. Elviria is particularly well known for its pine trees, beaches and mountain ranges. One of the most prestigious areas on the coast is set just inland from Elviria - La Mairena, home to impressive luxury villas and apartment complexes which enjoy some of the most spectacular views of the coast and mountain ranges. There are three golf courses in Elviria, the nine hole El Soto de Marbella course in La Mairena, the 18 hole Santa Maria golf course and the 9 hole Greenlife golf course.

Puerto Banús & Nueva Andalucía

Set between Marbella and Estepona, Puerto Banus is world renowned as a holiday resort and home to the rich and famous and offers one of the best year round climates in Europe. Puerto Banus was opened in May 1970 by the developer Jose Banus, the marina is situated only 5km to the east of Marbella, Puerto Banus has become one of the most famous ports in Europe. The focal point of Puerto Banus is the Marina, which has berths for 915 boats, with some of the world's wealthiest individuals mooring their exclusive yachts here.

The impressive boats are only matched by the lines of sports cars parked in the marina and the various designer clothing boutiques that line the streets. Puerto Banus still has a lot to offer those with less extravagant budgets and is the perfect venue to simply sit and watch the world go by. During the day and early evening the port offers a fantastic range of restaurants and cafe bars, and in the evening turns into one of the liveliest beach resorts on the Costa del Sol.

The surrounding beaches offer a wide variety of entertainment including the exclusive beach clubs located at Plaza Beach, Buda Beach, Mistral, Soul Beach & the Ocean Club. Known to locals as greater Puerto Banus, Nueva Andalucia is set just west of Marbella and lies just behind the marina. The bullring marks the entrance to Nueva Andalucia, where the road climbs back towards the mountains providing magnificent views of both the coast and the mountain backdrops. Centro Plaza shopping centre provides a number of quality shops, supermarkets and restaurants and is popular with local residents; in addition there are a number of restaurants providing an array of international cuisine for those not wishing to venture into the Port on the busier evenings! Casino Marbella based in the Andalucia Plaza hotel is one of the only the two casinos of the Costa del Sol.

The area is particularly popular with golfers – and nicknamed the Golf Valley – as there are 9 golf courses on offer in an area of 10KM including; Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Aloha Golf and La Dama de Noche (which is floodlit during the evenings). There is also a popular street market ("rastro") held next to the bullring every Saturday morning. Nueva Andalucía is particularly popular with local residents as it is home to several acknowledged schools, including the international Aloha College. For both residents and tourists alike, Nueva Andalucía is ideally situated and has become one of the most popular destinations on the coast.

San Pedro Alcántara & Guadalmina

San Pedro de Alcántara & Guadalmina are set in an ideal location, just minutes west of Puerto Banus and 10 kilometres from the glitz and glamour of Marbella. This popular area is based just a few minutes' drive away from the natural beauty of the Sierra de Ronda mountain range and 20 km from the town of Estepona. Nueva Alcántara is the beach side area by San Pedro, this thriving area houses shops, restaurants, hotels and upmarket apartments, townhouses and villas. The long, golden beaches enjoy a Blue Flag status for their cleanliness and the area benefits from an impressive five kilometre stretch of beach! The wide promenade or paseo maritimo is lined with magnificent palms trees and offers a wide range of restaurants and beach bars – whose specialities include fresh local fish. The promenade has recently been extended and now connects directly to Puerto Banus.

The town centre has a traditional Andalucían charm, with narrow streets leading up to the central plaza packed with shops cafes and bars. The parish church at the centre of the plaza is surrounded by orange blossoms and offers a cool area to relax during the summer months. The new San Pedro underpass is now open providing a far quicker route between Estepona and Marbella and plans include a new commercial zone and park area set above the underpass. Guadalmina is serviced by an established golf course and offers some of the more prestigious properties in the area in terms of beachside and golf front villas and urbanisations. San Pedro de Alcántara has undergone one of the largest transformations of coastal towns in recent years – however the area still retains its traditional appeal and is popular with tourists and residents alike.
