Monda er en liten landsby i innlandet med en befolkning på mindre enn to tusen innbyggere og ligger like ofenfor Ojén langs C-337 i en fjelldal på høyde ca 400m over havet. En ny adkomstvei som knytter Monda til Marbella har gjort bygda lettere tilgjengelig og ført til videre utbygning av landsbyen. Det dominerende trekk som kjennetegner landsbyen er slottet som står øverst i byen. Arkitektonisk er slottet, egentlig et hotell, er innredet i maurisk stil og tilbyr ypperlig innkvartering og mat.
Full av historie, ble Monda opprinnelig okkupert og Ibero-romersk befestet i tredjedelen av det første århundre f.Kr.. Dagens Monda er nå en søvnig andalusisk landsby omgitt av fredelige daler. Selve landsbyen er tilgjengelig fra to hovedveier fra motorveien. Inne i landsbyen er det tradisjonelle trange brostensgater med små tapasbarer som gir den andalusiske landsby et tradisjonellt spansk preg.
