Estepona once a small fishing village is now a bustling community and tourist destination located West of San Pedro in the direction of Algeceiras. Estepona is over 500 years old and is the area is steeped in history - some of the most impressive monuments are: the ruins of the Nicio Castle, the seven Beacon Towers which proudly stand along the coastline, the remains of the San Luis Castle, the los Remedios Church (18th century), and the original Bullring, which offers five museums.
The local Marina is a very pleasant place for a stroll or dining and there are some magnificent boats moored here. There is a popular tourist market on a Sunday morning offering a wide range of goods. The sandy coast of Estepona spreads along more than 21 km! Popular blue flag beaches include La Rada, El Cristo, Baha Dorada and the natural beach of Costa Natura, among many others.
