Alhaurín de la Torre is a municipality of Málaga province. It includes the areas of Alhaurín de la Torre, El Romeral, La Alqueria, La Fuensanta, Los Tomillares, Peñon-Zapata-Molina and Santa Amalia with a population of aproximately 38,300 residents.
The area creates the border between the Guadalhorce valley and the coastline being situated just 20 minutes’ drive from the Malaga city centre, and approximately the same distance to coastline and popular resorts of Torremolinos.
The town’s history dates back to Moorish times, however over the past decade Alhaurin de la Torre the town has transformed and is credited as being one of the fastest growing inland areas on the Costa del Sol.
